Wizkid’s Bold Critique of Davido: Musical Supremacy Revealed

Wizkid, a music singer, took to his X account (previously Twitter) to criticize Davido, making big claims about his musical supremacy, riches and style.

The rekindled dispute erupted after Davido’s friend, Black Tycoone, ridiculed Wizkid’s delayed album release, tweeting, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already.” Wizkid replied with veiled remarks, hinting that Davido’s music was substandard. Although he did not directly mention Davido, followers saw his posts as a barb.

Wizkid’s tweets were caustic, accusing Davido of being a “spoiled rich child” and insulting his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, often known as the “dancing governor,” writing, “When u see people wey dem papa and family train, you go know!”

You don’t see my uncle dancing online! 😎❤️.He also mocked Davido’s fan following, claiming that people admire him for his fortune rather than his talent.

”First, you’re not as cool as me, you can’t sing or make music like me, you can’t dress like me, you don’t make as much money as me, and you don’t even have hoes. You do not know yourself. You’re inexpensive; you charge less than we do! Now fuck off, you spoiled rich child!

That is all you are! Fuck you and your father’s money; we have ours! Every nigga around you is broken! Your dumb ass lawyer follows you about dressed like a basket mouth; our lawyers are too busy for that shit! “You kids!” his tweet stated.

In another tweet, he said, Naija is a place the rich weaponize poverty so u carry all these broke boys in real life and get dem visa so they worship u and not tell u abt yourself. Call u 001 u delusional fuck aye u idiot! The only time u’re 001 is when u’re in your house. U’re not 001 of nothing but instagram followers!
U don’t make money than any body in Nigeria in music! Cheap guy! Everything about u screams cheap!

One fan accused Wizkid of using the rivalry for attention, but Wizkid denied this, stating that he doesn’t “beef wack niggas” and called Davido talentless. There has also been speculation that Wizkid is using the traffic to promote his new music, which is set to drop soon.

When another Davido fan dropped a video defending Davido and captioned it All Facts, Wizkid replied: “U idiot! I turned down Puma cos they could no longer afford to pay me cos I wanted more! Don’t need dat! Way bigger than every artiste u just mentioned! Not jealous ! love em all…With ur dirty ass shirt! Idiot!”

As of the time of writing, Davido had yet to respond to Wizkid’s online outburst, leaving fans excited for the next chapter in this ongoing dispute.

Both singers emerged to prominence around the same time and have been huge music exports, but they have been locked in a Cold War for more than a decade, propelled by their fan bases, the 30 Billion Gang and Wizkid FC.

Over the years, they’ve exchanged several subtle jabs and outright disses, keeping their feud in the public glare.

One of the first public spats erupted in 2014, when Davido tweeted about a gig in New York, insinuating that he had a greater audience than Wizkid.

Wizkid answered with a cryptic tweet, and the conversation continued, much to their fans’ delight. This episode laid the groundwork for what would become a long-running feud.

Both artists have had tremendous success in their careers. Wizkid gained international prominence after collaborating with Drake on the 2016 track One Dance, which topped charts around the world. His 2020 album Made in Lagos gained great praise and included the global smash Essence, solidifying his status as a global superstar.

Davido has also had some chart-topping songs. His 2017 track If became an anthem, and he went on to release singles including Fall, FIA and Assurance. His 2019 album, A Good Time, was a commercial success, containing collaborations with foreign performers and demonstrating his versatility as an artist.
