Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Delivers 667 Projects Nationwide, Says Minister Jisalo

Zaphaniah Jisalo, Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, revealed that President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has made great progress, with 667 projects completed throughout the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory during the last year.

During a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Jisalo reviewed the ministry’s accomplishments, stressing projects such as boreholes, road building, maternity and healthcare centers, and clinics that mostly serve rural people.
The minister stated, “Let me assure you that with the renewed hope agenda, many initiatives are being carried out for the benefit of Nigerians.

“Zonal Intervention Fund, as you are aware, is ₦100 billion annually, and it is being shared to the senatorial districts and judiciously used for constituency projects by the National Assembly members, under the supervision of my ministry.”

He highlighted that the president has directed that no payments be made without a full examination of the projects to guarantee accountability and efficient use of funds.

The president has commanded that before any payment is made, we go visit the project and appraise it to justify the release of funds to any contractor working on the project.

“It is not the National Assembly members who are directly handling the projects themselves; it is under the supervision of the ministry, and we have been able to achieve tremendously in our duties,” Jisalo added, highlighting the National Assembly’s close collaboration with the Ministry of Special Duties.

Jisalo stated that further projects will be completed before the end of the year under the Renewed Hope Agenda initiative. He also advised Nigerian youth to resist participation in the planned protest on August 1, warning that it could worsen hunger and cause property damage.

He underscored President Tinubu’s dedication to the welfare and economic prosperity of Nigerians.

Jisalo also used the chance to emphasize his ministry’s broader obligations, which extend beyond overseeing constituency initiatives.

“I decided to hold this interactive session because I realized that many Nigerians are unaware of the ministry’s responsibilities.

“I want to bring it to the notice of Nigerians that Special Duties Office is an extension of presidency because every report of ministries go through it to the president,” according to him.
