Spurs sign Solanke for £65 million

Tottenham increased their attacking options for the forthcoming Premier League season by adding Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke in a deal worth up to £65 million ($83 million).

The 26-year-old has signed a six-year contract worth an initial £55 million, with a further £10 million in add-ons.

Solanke, who started his career at Chelsea and briefly at Liverpool, joined Bournemouth in 2019 and had his finest goalscoring season in 2023/24, with 19 Premier League goals.

He is anticipated to be present for Saturday’s friendly against Bayern Munich at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

If Tottenham pays the entire price, Solanke will become the club’s record signing.

Spurs delayed signing a striker when Harry Kane left for Bayern Munich a year ago.
Solanke will now look to propel Ange Postecoglou’s side back into the Champions League after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season.

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley said earlier this summer that Solanke’s contract featured a release clause of around £65 million, and his departure represents a club record, surpassing the £40 million they earned for Nathan Ake from Manchester City in 2020.
Following Dominic’s accomplishments for us, particularly his remarkable 2023-24 season, it is unsurprising that a team of Tottenham’s caliber has expressed an interest,” stated Bournemouth’s chief executive Neill Blake.

“His progress since joining in 2019 is a testament to his hard work and dedication, as well as the platform AFC Bournemouth provides for young talent to develop.

“We’re pleased to secure a club-record fee for Dominic and he also leaves with everyone’s sincere well wishes at AFC Bournemouth.”
