Seun Kuti: Fela spoiled me while I was growing up

Seun Kuti, an Afrobeats artist, has described his late father, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, as a loving father to him.
Kuti admitted that he was pampered as a child.
He said this during an appearance on the Zero Conditions podcast.

He recalls his father giving him preferential treatment over his other siblings.

The musician stated that he was his father’s favorite, emphasizing that he was an excellent parent to him, despite the fact that his siblings may consider him “a terrible dad.”

The artist boasted that because he was spoiled since childhood, he had never done laundry in his life.

He announced, “I won the daddy lottery. Fela Kuti is my favorite person in the world. If you asked my brothers, they would say he was a bad parent, but he was an unbelievable father to me.

“You don’t realize how spoiled I was growing up. I’ve never done laundry in my life. I do not know how to wash anything. “I am not bragging.”

He also disclosed that he joined his late father’s band, Egypt 80, at the age of eight.

“I’ve been with Fela’s Egypt 80 band since I was eight years old. So after Fela died, my family requested me to continue with the band and keep all the money I earned,” he explained.
