Protesters in Plateau Hold Church Service on Protest Grounds

Protesters in Plateau State held a Sunday church service at the Old Airport roundabout in Jos, where they have been meeting since the demonstration began, which is now on its fourth day.

The worship event, which was attended by both Christians and Muslims, was a copy of the Muslim faithful’s jumat prayers, which took place at the same location last Friday.

With a larger crowd than previous gatherings, the demonstrators temporarily transformed the arena into a temple, singing praise and worship hymns to commemorate Day 4 of the protest.

The demonstrators are dissatisfied with President Bola Tinubu’s Sunday morning broadcast, which they believe did not address issues made by the agitators.

Security officers, led by the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, were in charge of monitoring the demonstrators’ actions, which have been peaceful over the last four days and may continue given the President’s unsatisfactory response.

Plateau State coalition leaders are meeting to decide what to do next following the president’s address, which has been regarded as disappointing and unacceptable.
