Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate for 2023, has expressed his grief over the deaths that occurred during the recent #EndBadGovernance protests around the country.
Obi expressed his profound sympathies to the bereaved families, recognizing that those who perished did so in the pursuit of improved government in Nigeria.

In a post on his X account on Sunday, the former Governor of Anambra State emphasized the critical need to address issues including as insecurity, corruption, poverty, and the overall miseries that Nigerians experience.

He urged authorities to take decisive, immediate action to address these pressing issues.

Obi wrote: “The #Endbadgovernance protests officially ended yesterday.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt condolences to everyone who was killed during these protests, including security personnel.

“These people dedicated their life while campaigning for improved government in our country. I want to express my heartfelt condolences to all of the families who have lost loved ones in this conflict. We all share your sadness as we work together to strengthen our country.
May we all find the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss. Those who have been wounded and are recovering in hospitals or at home, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. Your sacrifices for our country’s cause are much appreciated.

I also want to utilize this opportunity to urge all leaders to consider the cries of the afflicted and answer their rightful requests. It is critical that we, as leaders, address the issues that ignited and fueled these protests.

“Addressing instability, combatting corruption, reducing misery, and combating poverty are all pressing issues that require quick action. I encourage all leaders to take decisive action to address these crucial concerns.

“May the deceased rest in peace, and the injured recover completely and quickly.

“A new Nigeria is still a possibility. – PO”
