Nollywood Actor Calls Out Tinubu Supporters for Hiding Faces

Damilare Olaiya, a veteran Nollywood actor, has accused his colleagues who supported President Bola Tinubu’s administration of disguising their faces to fear backlash from Nigerians.
In an interview with News Central at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, Lagos during the #EndBadGovernance demonstration, the movie actor declared a desire to “die if necessary” in order to fight for a brighter future for his children and grandchildren.
Olaiya stated that he attended the protest to express his dissatisfaction with the federal government over weak governance, corruption, and the rising cost of living in the country.

Olaiye also accused the government of funding the thugs who disrupted the #EndSARS rally in 2020.

He stated, “We are saying that terrible government must stop. Nigeria’s challenges aren’t intractable. They are human problems that can be solved by putting an end to bad governance and terrible leadership.

“My colleagues, many of whom have supported the government, have had their comment sections postponed. I don’t want to mention names. Some of our experienced Nollywood actresses who supported the administration are now covering their faces. They cannot expect a backlash from Nigerians.

But I’m telling you this for those of us who still believe in this country, for those of us who have fought from the time I was an undergraduate, to before I got married, to after I got married, to when I had my children, to when my children began having their own children. Today, I am a grandfather, and I am still struggling. I’m telling you, even if it means ending our lives, poor governance must end. We’re prepared to die.

“For the #EndSARS protest, the world knows that the government sponsored thugs and transported them in Lagos BRT vehicles to attack demonstrators.

You can see now that we are at peace, singing about how poor governance must cease.

“If the government orders the army to start shooting us, we will die, but we know that the soldiers will also die one day. The ones who send them will also die. This life I live is for Nigeria, for my children’s children, and I am willing to die if necessary.
