Mr Macaroni Reveals Courage After Disturbing Encounter
Adebowale Debo Adedayo, a Nigerian content producer and activist better known as Mr #Macaroni, has recounted the experience that made him courageous.
According to the media personality, he gained confidence following his arrest in 2021.
According to Lagmen Net, following the massacre of #EndSARS demonstrators at the Lekki Tollgate on October 20, 2020, several Nigerian youths protested the request to reopen the tollgate.
Nigerian police grabbed Mr Macaroni during a protest against the reopening of the tollgate.
Speaking about the incident in a recent interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Macaroni stated that his time in police custody made him courageous and motivated to advocate for the disadvantaged.
He described his trauma, claiming that he was stripped naked and assaulted by officers who took joy in his pain.
He stated, “I believe I should be involved because God has given me the platform today, not to be popular, but to speak up for those who are unable to speak for themselves.” How can I ask others to make sacrifices that I am unwilling to make?
“After that encounter, all of my dread gone. That’s the twist. It was after these people tortured me that I noticed the hatred in their eyes and how angry they were.
“The sketch I created does not accurately reflect my experience. I had to do it so that others could watch. I was totally naked. They stripped us naked, and I was abused. They were pleased and mentioning names. They claimed I was upsetting some folks.
