From the debris of the two-story structure that collapsed next to the Cupid Hotel on Sultan Dansuki Road, Phase 2, Site 2, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council, Abuja, four people have been saved alive.
Two of the four people who were saved alive have been brought to the Kubwa General Hospital.
The joint efforts of security authorities and courageous people are searching for further people who might be trapped in the collapsed structure, according to the FCT Emergency Management Department.

At the scene of the event are the Nigeria Police, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the FCT Fire Service, the National Emergency Management Agency, the FCT Emergency Management Department, and the Civil Defense Corps.

45 independent rooms make up the residential property that collapsed, according to a statement made by Nkechi Isa, Head of Public Affairs at FEMD.

Nkechi also said that before it was turned into a residence, it was utilized as a hotel.

Search and rescue operations will continue until the last person is extracted, “if at all there is still someone trapped in the rubble,” according to Mrs. Florence Dawon Wenegieme, the acting director general of FEMD, who is now at the scene of the tragedy, as reported by The Nation.

According to the Director-General of FEMD, one of the causes of the recurring building collapses is the use of inferior building materials by certain developers.
