Kaduna Streets Abandoned in Protest Against Hardship

Kaduna’s normally busy highways are vacant and abandoned as demonstrators go to the streets to vent their dissatisfaction with dismal living conditions.

The popular Ahmadu Bello Way in Kaduna’s Central Business District is devoid of automobile and pedestrian traffic.

On a regular day, this area would be bustling with business activity, but not today.

Public transportation networks are working at decreased capacity because most commuters are remaining indoors, allegedly out of fear.

As the protests continue, several shops and businesses on Junction Road, Ahmadu Bello Way, Sabon Tasha, Kawo, and Mando have closed as a precaution.

Traders and vendors have decided to avoid markets and trading areas due to the planned demonstration.

This choice is intended to secure their safety and preserve their belongings and property from potential harm or looting.

Security personnel have been sent to critical sites and identified flash spots to preserve order and safeguard civilians, including demonstrators, if they emerge.

The police are attempting to provide a quiet and safe environment for everyone.
