Food Prices Drop: Doguwa Urges Patience with Tinubu’s Govt

“You’ll agree with me that the cost of food is gradually decreasing. Insecurity is being handled, with our valiant military winning big successes over rebels.
The government of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is primarily concerned with Nigeria and Nigerians. I implore all of us to support it, regardless of our political affiliation.”

Doguwa, who chairs the House Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), added that the Independent National Electoral Commission is the only dependable electoral umpire.

He emphasized the necessity for INEC to hold local government elections to enhance democracy at the grassroots level.

The member contended that until the appropriate laws were amended, the third tier of government would continue to have little or no role in grassroots development, exacerbating rural-urban migration and its associated difficulties.

He stated, “INEC is the only reliable electoral umpire. We must immediately revise our electoral and constitutional legislation to allow INEC to conduct local council elections; otherwise, local council elections in Nigeria would remain a caricature of what they should be.”
