#EndBadGovernance Protest: There’s No Going Back! Say organizers

Despite the deployment of security personnel to intimidate them, organizers of the #Endbadgovernance countrywide demonstration against hunger and hardship have stated that they will continue the agitation.

Our correspondent, who was monitoring events in the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday, reported that the former country director of Action Aid Nigeria, Ene Obi, and Hauwa Mustapha, who are among the organizers, said they would continue to demonstrate at the Moshood Abiola Stadium until the 10-day protest period expired.

Other demonstrators had abandoned the two ladies to their fate, as no protest took place in Abuja on Tuesday.

“Watch the president talk to Nigeria. It was a completely empty speech. What are you telling us? None of the demands have been met.

And you’re telling us to go to the stadium. We are at the stadium, nah. “Let our children come,” Ene Obi, one of the organizers, urged reporters.

Obi went on to say, “Reduce the price of fuel items. This is the same government that opposed the elimination of fuel subsidies. The same president has used it to penalize Nigerians.
We are mothers. What they are doing is turning our children against us. Even the police and security agencies: which one is heading to a different market? Their money is worthless. They’re turning our kids against us. We’re sitting here; let them teargas us. I can give birth to so many of them.

“The mothers of the land are hurt.

There is no employment. Many of our children have attended school yet are unemployed. We are calling for the end of terrible government.

“They suggested you should choose one minister from each state. The constitution does not include the position of minister of state. They are even creating more seats to accommodate more ministers.

“The administration has shown no signs that it can reduce the expense of governing.
The development comes after days of violent protests in the nation’s capital, during which police officers fired tear gas at demonstrators.
