During the Resurrected Conflict With AY, Basketmouth Reveals His Intention To Leave Funny
Bright Okpocha, often known as Basketmouth, is a seasoned Nigerian comedian and actor who recently revealed his plans to end his comedic career.
In five years, the comedian announced he would be leaving the business.
His announcement comes days after his colleague Ayo Makun called him out on an altercation they had years ago.
In an interview with Hitz FM, Basketmouth explained how he had been floundering in the business for the previous six years until deciding to return to comedy last year.
The actor claimed that he has enough money from the industry to support himself for the rest of his life, but he also wants to pursue new things outside of comedy.
“For the past six years, I’ve just been floating,” he said. “Last year, I told my team and myself, ‘You know what, I’m going back to comedy, I want to do five years and I’m quitting.'” In five years, I’ll be leaving.
“I have five years left to complete this before I’m finished. Even while I still joke around, it won’t be in a work-related setting. Hence, if you see me performing, it may be because I am doing it for free; nevertheless, I will not charge anyone to see me perform again.
I’ve earned enough money and have dedicated myself to the art sufficiently to take a break or stop. I currently produce television shows, movies, and concerts. I want to try something new and experience something different from humor in order to leave a lasting impression.
