DisCo Announces New Electricity Rates for Customers in Kaduna

A new rate for clients using Band A feeders has been published by the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KEDC).
The company’s Head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, July 3, that premium customers will now pay N209.5 per kWh, up from the previous rate of N206.80 per kWh, to continue to enjoy a consistent power supply.
The revised rate went into effect on July 1st, according to Abdullahi’s announcement headed “Upward Review of Tariff for Band A Feeders.”

“Dear valued customers, Kaduna Electric Management now notifies the public of a tariff revision for Band A feeders, which would increase the rate from N206.80/kWh to N209.5/kWh.

KEDC allays other customers’ worries by clarifying that the current rate for Bands B, C, D, and E is unchanged.

Nigerians, especially factories and public and private institutions, are complaining about their monthly electricity costs being unreasonably high at the moment of the KEDC’s most recent pricing rise.
