Applications for admission to the Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna's School of Basic Remedial Studies and Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) Program are now being accepted from adequately qualified individuals for the 2024–2025 academic year.

SCHOOL OF BASIC REMEDIAL STUDIES REQUIREMENTS

Admission Requirements Qualification:
Social and Management Sciences:
Applicants must Pass five subjects at Credit Level at not more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC, NECO,NABTEB and should Include the core subjects of their intended course of study.
Note: that Credit grades in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory for eventual admission into any programme. Two of the five subjects must be from Social Arts while the other subjects may be from the Social Sciences.
Engineering and Sciences:
Applicants must pass the following subjects at credit level: English Language, Biology,Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics at NOT more than two sittings in the SSCE/GCE organised by WAEC/NECO and NABTEB
DURATION OF PROGRAMME 
The programme is for a duration of two semesters (one academic session).
ELIGIBILITY 
The basic programme is primarily opened to applicants that couldn't secure admission into AFIT based on having UTME score below the JAMB cut-off point. However, applicants that applied for other Universities may also be considered.
GENERAL CONDITONS
Applicants who have credit pass in five(5),OLevel subjects but with deficiency in English Language or Mathematics may apply for the programme; PROVIDED that they MUST register for and obtain credit pass in the subject before being considered for admission into degree programme.
Consideration for admission into programmes shall be based on performance and quota for each programme.
Admitted Remedial candidates who pass the School's examinations at the end of the programme and obtain the minimum UTME cut off point approved by the University SHALL be considered for admission into degree programnes based on performance And quota for each programme. 
IJMB ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 
Candidates must have obtained at least five (5) credits which include English Language, General mathematics and 3 other subjects in Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Admission into AFIT is considered with high level of possibility provided a student successfully completes the IJMB programme. Must have sat and passed IJMBE with at least 10 points and above.
Notable Information for Admission 
Students admitted into the IJMB Programme must be done with the requirements listed above. After registration, will undergo one year intensive programme.
All successfully admitted and registered students are placed into one of the five (5) academic groups; IJMB 1, IJMB 2, IJMB 3, IJMB 4, IJMB 5 and IJMB 6. Each student is given a group by considering his/her intended future carrier and the O – Level credits obtained.
​​METHOD OF APPLICATION 
• Candidates are to visit the School of Basic and Remedial Studies website on  https://portal.afit.edu.ng/  and follow the link for the 2024/2025 Academic Session. 
• Application forms are to be completed online after a non-refundable payment of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) using Interswitched enable ATM cards.
A candidate who is offered admission would be expected to bring the completed form and SSCE/GCE certificates/results slip during registration.
Application portal for both the School of Remedial Studies and Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) will be opened from Monday, 29th July, 2024.
