Breaking: Security Officers Disperse Protesters in Abuja, Arrest Three

On Monday, security personnel dispersed demonstrators in the Karu district of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Protesters protesting against bad administration in the country were just gathering when security forces pursued them and arrested three.
One of the demonstrators who talked with Punch, Yahaya Abdullahi, claimed that security agents fired tear gas at them.

He went on: “Our people were just coming out and the police and other security agents started tear-gassing us and arrested some of our people, we know of three for now.”

This comes only hours after the Department of State Services (DSS) detained Micheal Lenin, one of the leaders of the ongoing #Endbadgovernance protests in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

DSS agents captured Lenin at 2 a.m. on Monday at his home in the Apo neighborhood of the nation’s capital city.

Damilare Adenola, Director of Mobilisation at Take It Back Movement, confirmed to Punch that the DSS raided Lenin’s house.

He said that the DSS also abused him during his arrest.

“The DSS arrested Lenin. He was apprehended during a raid on his home about 2 a.m.

“He was detained and tortured in front of his family. “We demand his immediate and unconditional release,” Adenola stated.
