Bobrisky Is Released From Prison (Video)

Controversial Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okunneye, also known as Bobrisky, has been released from prison.
On April 12, 2024, Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced Bobrisky to six months in prison for misusing naira notes.

It should be noted that the Lagos State Command of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) gave clarification on the conditions in which Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, was being imprisoned.

Rumours spread online that Bobrisky was staying in a VIP apartment at the Kirikiri detention institution.

However, the NCoS has strongly denied these assertions. In a statement made on Saturday, Rotimi Oladokun, spokesperson for the Lagos State Command, stated that Bobrisky is not receiving special treatment and shares a cell with other convicted criminals, contrary to what had been suggested in numerous social media posts.

Oladokun stated that the correctional institution does not have en-suite or ‘one-bedroom flat’ style cells.

He went on to clarify that the cell block infrastructure is built to handle several inmates and does not allow for the provision of unique amenities for any individual.

He added that little offences can land someone in prison.

The crossdresser noted further that he is only focusing on friends who were there for him during his time in prison.

Speaking in an interview with GoldMyneTV after his release, Bobrisky said, “Follow the rules, abide with the law. Don’t spray money, unless you’ll be a landlord inside kirikiri.”

He added, “It’s not just about killing or any criminal activity, something light like this can take you there.

“I’m only focusing on my friends who were there for me, and I’m grateful. I’m not thinking about any other person.”
