Veteran standup comedian cum Nollywood actor Atunyota Akpobome, also known as Ali Baba, has spoken out about the birth of triplets with his wife, Mary.
According to Naija News, Ali Baba sparked reactions on April 1 when he announced on his Instagram page that he and his wife, Mary, had welcomed triplets, but many people mistook the post for a common ‘April Fool’ joke.
In an interview with Punch, the comic revealed that he had mixed feelings when he found out his wife was having triplets.
He stated, “I felt indifferent, but I was also happy.”
Speaking about concerns in the entertainment business, Ali Baba stated that there was a lot more serious problem in Nigeria than the moral controversies made by skit makers and content providers.
He stated, “The problem is that skit and content artists do not judge your moral compass. It is based on family supervision, government regulations, and educational institutions. It is the societal actions that are mirrored. For example, the youngster who does skits about prostitution is not the one who started it.
However, this does not mean that they should constantly promote it. But, when individuals are living in corruption and nothing is done to them, are any of those things being prohibited? No! However, morality has become a major concern in light of the larger problem of corruption. Is the girl who dances naked on social media worse than the man who steals N2 billion in the office?”
