US Police Deports Hundreds of Illegal Immigrants

US police apprehended 538 illegal migrants and deported hundreds in a massive operation just days into President Donald Trump’s second term, his press secretary announced late Thursday.

“The Trump Administration arrested 538 illegal immigrant criminals,” Karoline Leavitt stated in a post on social media platform X, adding that “hundreds” were deported by military plane.

“The largest huge deportation operation in history is already beginning. Promises were made. “Promises kept,” she explained.

During the election campaign, Trump promised to crack down on illegal immigration, and his second term began with a flurry of executive actions geared at revamping admission into the United States.

He has signed orders proclaiming a “national emergency” at the southern border and announcing the deployment of more troops, threatening to deport “criminal aliens.”

On Thursday, Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka stated that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials stormed a local establishment and detained both undocumented residents and citizens without a warrant.

Earlier last week, the Republican-led US Congress approved a bill to expand pretrial detention for foreign criminal suspects.
