Account Officer

Job Specifications:

Job Description:
  • Handles all aspects of assigned bookkeeping activities such as reconciliations, journals and nominal ledger administration by updating the accounting application with transactions as they occur
  • Executes measures to ensure that the company’s receivables are effectively monitored and are kept to the minimum
  • Processes cash book transactions and prepares bank reconciliation
  • Documents and updates records of all fixed assets to ensure assets are properly valued, accounted for and safeguarded
  • Computes direct expenses as well as proper booking of all expenses
  • Monitors of Rainoil’s budget by performance evaluation and analysis of variances
  • Manages invoices with respect to truck activities
  • Prepares of the year end performance report showing the closing balances for assets, liabilities, cash and stock.
  • Prepares periodic accounts as well as the group’s statement of financial position at the end of the financial year.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree/HND in Finance/ Accounting or any related discipline
  • Relevant professional certification e.g. Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN),Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) is an advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in the Finance/ Treasury/ Accounts function in a similar organization.

Tax Analyst

Job Description:

The role is Tax responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with the Nigerian tax regulations, international tax laws, and the specific tax requirements of the oil and gas industry. The role will involve tax research, preparing tax returns, assisting with tax audits, and implementing tax strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.

Responsibility

Tax Compliance:

  • Analysing taxes and collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with local and national tax laws.
  • Prepare returns and review documents, check for accuracy and completion.
  • Manage compliance with industry-specific taxes, such as Petroleum Profits Tax (PPT) and royalties.

Tax Planning and Strategy:

  • Suggesting and implementing strategies for tax efficiency in respect of capital investments and transactions.
  • Assist with tax forecasting and budgeting, and work to minimize the company’s tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.

Audit and Reporting:

  • Assist in tax audits and respond to tax authorities on audit-related queries and reconciliations.
  • Ensure filing of tax audit documents and timely processing of required tax reports.
  • Monitor tax legislation changes and assess their impact on the company.

Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with the finance and accounting teams to reconcile tax accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with other business units to provide guidance on tax implications of contracts, agreements, and joint ventures.

Tax Advisory:

  • Provide advisory opinion on tax risks and opportunities within the oil and gas sector.
  • Ensure compliance with Nigerian Local Content Development requirements where applicable.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, including those specific to the oil and gas industry (e.g., Petroleum Profits Tax).
  • Familiarity with tax treaties, international tax practices, and transfer pricing.
  • Experience with tax audits and dispute resolution with tax authorities.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with tax reporting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., ICAN, ACCA, CITN) preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in tax analysis, ideally within the oil and gas or energy sectors.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian tax regulations and FIRS processes

IT Officer

Job Description:

To manage and maintain the network infrastructure of Rainoil, as well as the acquisition, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of computer hardware devices

To manage all software applications running on the hardware devices and ensure that they provide adequate support to Rainoil in order to achieve set objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides robust IT platforms and infrastructure to support Rainoil Logistics business operations.
  • Assists in implementing IT strategies, policies, and procedures
  • Plans, designs, and maintains data networks and servers
  • Provides technical support to users on network issues
  • Administers day-to-day operations of networks and servers
  • Implements LAN/WAN maintenance and management procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains user accounts, profiles, file sharing, access privileges on the company intranet
  • Installs, supports, and maintains both physical and virtual network servers and appliances
  • Oversees the day-to-day operation of computer networks within Rainoil Logistics
  • Liaises with the Internet Service Providers and other vendors for cost effective services in line with Service Level Agreements
  • Maintains computer peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers and ensures that these are prepared and ready to be used
  • Assists the Team Lead, Information Technology in the deployment of computer hardware around the company
  • Manages relationship with service providers to ensure seamless, cost effective and hitch free internet connectivity
  • Maintains logs and records of daily data communication transactions, problems, and remedial actions
  • Provides support and maintenance to the business’ software and applications

Internal Control Officer

Job Description:

To assist the Team Lead, Internal Control in promoting continuity of the Group operations by developing and implementing business control policies and operational guidelines that help to minimize exposure to potential risks and impact on business performance.

Responsibility

  •  Implements the Internal Control programs to ascertain and report on degree of compliance with company-approved policies and operating procedures, laws, regulations, and code of good business practices.
  • Assists in the implementation of internal control policies and procedures to ensure compliance and promote operational efficiency & transparency.
  • Conducts Internal Control evaluation and risk assessments to identify loopholes and areas requiring management intervention to prevent frauds, embezzlements, misappropriations, misuse, and wastage.
  • Conducts audit tests and investigations as designed by the Audit Team Lead.
  • Prepares draft audit reports for review by the Team Leads.
  • Evaluates information security and associated risk exposures.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of Four (4) years relevant experience working in the internal audit function of a similar organization.
  • Minimum of Second Class Upper in B.Sc in Accounting or any finance related course.
  • Relevant professional certifications e.g., Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) or Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  •  MBA or master’s degree in any related discipline.
