Six Cultists Arrested in Akwa Ibom: Police Operation Details

In the state’s Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, in the Afaha Offiong community, the Akwa Ibom State Police Command raided a criminal hideaway.

In a statement provided to Channels Television on Monday, ASP Timfon John, the command’s public relations officer, revealed this.

“The operation was executed by the Command’s agents who obeyed the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom, CP Waheed Ayilara, on intelligence reports available to the Command concerning illicit activities in a segment of the Community,” he stated.

“After dispatching operatives to the community, the efforts produced prompt outcomes that resulted in the apprehension of six male individuals who were believed to be drug dealers and members of cults: Kufre Godwin Okon, Uko Monday Edet, Cyril Micheal, Gabriel Effiong, Joseph Effiong Okon, and Udofia Emmanuel Udofia.”
According to the statement, agents also found two bags containing what appeared to be Indian hemp, chemicals thought to be cocaine, and several mixed drinks.

In addition, it stated that an investigation is still underway in an attempt to apprehend evading syndicate members.

CP Waheed Ayilara, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State Command, has reassured Akwa Ibomites of the command’s steadfast commitment to purging the state of criminal elements.

He asked them to always report any suspicious activity or suspicious people to the closest police station, as doing so will enable the police to gather information and take appropriate action to maintain the safety and security of the State.
