Kaduna Police Arrest 25 Suspects for Violent Attacks on Government Agencies

The Kaduna State Police Command says it has detained 25 people suspected of carrying out violent attacks on government facilities.

ASP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s spokesman, announced the arrests on Monday, stating that some of those seized are members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN).

Among the items found on the suspects were an AK-47 weapon, live ammunition, a jackknife, and a police camouflage suit. Some of the arrested people were found in possession of these things, raising questions about the scope of the intended violence.

The arrests come amid rising tensions and protests in Kaduna, which has seen a string of violent attacks on government facilities and officials. The police claim they have increased their efforts to maintain order and prevent future destruction of public property.

ASP Hassan highlighted the necessity of keeping peace and cautioned against taking any measures that could worsen the situation. He advised the public to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement officers, reassuring them that the police are dedicated to protecting lives and property.

The suspects are currently in police custody, and an investigation is underway to determine the full scope of their involvement in the attacks. The Kaduna State Police Command reiterated its commitment to bringing all perpetrators to justice and safeguarding the safety of all citizens.
