Why I’m No Longer Close To Basketmouth – Bovi
Famous Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has explained why he no longer gets along well with Basketmouth, his more senior colleague.
The media personality said he is no longer friends with Basketmouth because he chose to concentrate on himself and his brand during an interview with Chude Jidenowo.
He claimed that there is a limit to how far some individuals can push you and that eventually you will need to stand up and make more strides.
The influencer continued by saying that he and Basketmouth remain good friends.
Bovi compared their current connection to their prior one and asserted that the earlier phase was only a passing phase.
He emphasized that his priorities have evolved as his children have grown, and that right now, his top priorities are his family and his happiness.
“You know, but there was this camaraderie, this symbiotic friendship, but he was more visible because he’s a brand, you put Basketmouth’s name on anything and it’s going,” he said. I believe that throughout time,
my mission was to become a brand as well, a big one and there’s a stage where brands grow to and the room becomes too small, you’ll have to basically find your way, that now allows room for more people to come on board.”
“I took responsibility for my own decision and said, ‘You know what, it’s time to expand your brand and focus on you now. Skirmishes will always occur because we are human; after all, they are a constant in popular culture. So I simply realize that, like I stated earlier, pushing yourself is the best thing you can do for yourself because, if you wait for someone to say, “Come let me take you,” you can wait a very long time. I’m not saying it doesn’t, but there are also limits to how far some people can push you. In order to break new ground, you have to get up and move.

At the moment, my top priorities are personal happiness, doing what makes me happy, and ensuring the happiness of my children and family, who are my immediate consistency.
