Business Development Officer

Job Description:

 

  • To Closely follow up and monitor the status of proposals, bids and RFQs,
  • To continuously scan for business opportunities in the industry
  • Promptly translate opportunities to tangible business opportunities.
  • To proactively source information, facilitate access to information, promptly and pragmatically coordinate information flow to Line Manager.
  • Drive aggressive business development activities across the industry
  • Prospect potential clients and convert them into increased business opportunities.
  • Submit and ensure data is accurate on weekly progress reports.
  • Develop a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support.
  • Sales Intelligent data gathering
  • Identifying opportunities for bid submissions and raising them with the Business Development Manager
  • Monitor online submission of bid packages through NIPEX Joint Qualification System (NJQS) portal, Ariba, other E-procurement platforms, or Physical Submission to the client office is done on time and within the agreed tender preparation budget.
  • Assist the BDM to follow up bids

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, any related field.
  • Proven experience of a minimum of 5 – 7 years in Business Development within the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong understanding of client management and relationship building.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to create new relationships.
  • Expertise using platforms like NIPEX, Ariba, and other tender submission systems for managing bids and RFQs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Workspace, and other proposal management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
