37 Suspected ‘Yahoo Boys’ Arrested in Anambra State
37 accused online scammers, sometimes known as ‘Yahoo Boys,’ have been detained in Awka, the capital of Anambra State.
The accused were apprehended by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) agents in a sting operation at Commissioners’ Quarters, Dr. J. O. Ukwutinife Close, Ifite, Awka.
The EFCC announced this in a brief message on its X account on Wednesday.
The anti-graft agency stated that all of the suspects were male and that their detention was based on intelligence linking them to fraudulent internet operations.
Six exotic cars, laptops, and mobile phones were among the items recovered.
It stated that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
